At just 18 years-old, Jason Cherry, son of one of our beloved clients, is on his way to becoming a superstar race car driver and using that platform to raise awareness and money for the Autism Society of America.
His mother, Cathy Purple Cherry, is a woman we greatly admire. In addition to being Principal and Founder of Purple Cherry Architects, she is the Founder of Purposeful Architecture, a Special Needs Architecture firm that focuses on designing successful environments for individuals with special needs, including autism. Along with her work, designing spaces that cater to the specific needs of individuals with challenges and their families, she advocates passionately for this purpose, writing articles and speaking nationally about Purposeful Architecture.
Now her sons are involved in a project to bring awareness to autism and help families impacted by autism. Jason, inspired by his brother Matthew, has partnered with the Autism Society of America and will help fund programs offered by this organization by giving 20% of the money raised through the Jason Cherry Racing Fund.
"As a professional race car driver and future team owner, my mission is to use the strength of the global motorsports industry to drive awareness and raise funds for the Autism Society of America and its 104 local and state affiliates to provide programs that will assist those impacted by autism including siblings." – Jason Cherry
Here's a link to a really sweet video that Jason and Matthew put together explaining all this much better that we ever could, so watch it, get inspired, donate and spread the word!
