Old Stein Inn

Peppermill Projects has partnered with Old Stein Inn, a German restaurant outside Annapolis, for more than a decade, evolving the brand as the business has grown.

What began as a logo redesign developed into an ongoing engagement focused on maintaining a consistent, recognizable identity while allowing the brand to expand. Over time, a flexible brand system was created to support new concepts without losing the character and tradition that define Old Stein.

As the business grew, that system extended into additional concepts, including Bier Bär, a year-round outdoor biergarten, and Drei Bruder, a line of house-made products inspired by the owners’ family. Each brand has its own personality, but all are clearly connected and intentionally designed to live under the Old Stein umbrella. This work extended beyond identity into the website and digital presence, ensuring the brand translated consistently from in-person experience to online interaction.

The result is a cohesive family of brands that feels unified while still allowing each part of the business to stand on its own.

"When we were rebuilding the Old Stein after the fire, Jenn took the time to understand what Old Stein meant to my family and to the community. She helped us keep the heart of the place while bringing it into a new chapter. Every time we’ve grown, she’s made sure everything feels connected."

— Michael Selinger, Old Stein Inn Owner
